- Greetings Ladies!!After turning 40 years old in 2007, I felt like my life needed more meaning.I began to search deeper for my passion and purpose ...during a conversation with a friend, I along with my childhood friends ,stepped out and began the development of a 501(c)(3) non profit organization M.A.G.G.I.C. INC.(mentoring a girl/guy in crisis )targeted to mentoring teens in my hometown to be launched Spring 2010.I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family Consumer Sciences at The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff .I have worked within the social services field for many years from case management to supervisory.During my professional career I have come in contact with many bleeding hearts.Many of them are young African American young women who lack confidence,poor etiquette and social skills,mainly because they do not have a strong support system.Witnessing the condition of our teenage girls self esteem and other negative conditions ..I felt that it was time to give back,by matching positive mentors to young girls who only need the encouragement ,support of a trusted individual to bring out the best in them in order to grow into women such as Michelle Obama and the many other woman who possess the qualities of leading ladies.I am a single-divorced mother of one son,a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.,and above all a Christian. I admire the first Lady Michelle Obama and through her demonstration of excellence for African American women I salute her and this organization for their commitment to her legacy.

M.A.G.G.I.C INC. 501 (c) (3) non for profit organization is in the developing phases which will start providing service spring 2010.Our goal is to provide structured mentoring support services to teens that are in need of a trusted individual that offers guidance,support,and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of the mentee.
Our mission is to provide mentoring services for the mind,body and soul,in order to teach each girl and boy to use barriers or crisis as a stepping stone to improve their overall self image.It is our goal to help develop these youth by providing them with mentoring and motivation as well as teaching positive morals and values to empower them to set goals and pursue their dreams.It is our hope that during their highschool years they will use the knowledge they have gained through M.A.G.G.I.C. INC. ,and apply it to life to make better choices under peer pressure and take values learned into adult life so they may make a positve impact in their community and societ at large.
M.A.G.G.I.C INC Programs will include:
I.Mentoring...a monthly visit with mentor,weekly email or phone call,quarterly group meeting, and 24 hour access to mentor in time of crisis..monthly e letters will be sent out to encourgage and inspire mentee.
II.Summer and Winter Enrichment Workshop(speakers provide life skills,proper etiquette,motivation and empowerment ,self -esteem building and other teen topics discussed in focus groups)
III. Roadtrip to Success..provide road trip to selected participants ..this trip will focus on trust,leadership,etiquette,heritage,and to promote college preparation,
M.A.G.G.I.C INC will have an annual Banquet to highlight yearly accomplishments of the program and award Mentor and Mentee of the year.
